Built Around a Better Way to Own Property in Tangier
StayTanja was created after seeing first-hand how difficult it could be to find the level of transparency, communication and local support we expected in Tangier’s property market.
Information was not always as clear as it should be, communication could be inconsistent, and managing different parties often required more time and involvement than expected. For property owners and investors living abroad, those challenges become even more significant.
We believed there should be a better way: clear advice, transparent communication and a reliable local team that takes responsibility and keeps clients informed.
That principle became the foundation of StayTanja. Today, we support clients throughout the property journey, from buying and preparing a property to rental management, ongoing oversight and eventual sale, while keeping the personal communication the company was built around.
FOUNDER STORY
From Amsterdam to Tangier
StayTanja was built from a combination of professional experience in law, investments and real estate in the Netherlands, together with Moroccan roots and a lasting connection to Tangier.
The background behind StayTanja includes legal studies in Amsterdam and professional experience working with investment funds, followed by professional real estate training in the Netherlands. This shaped the way we approach property, with a strong focus on contracts, risk, due diligence, financial logic and clear decision-making.
That approach now runs through every service we provide. It applies to the regulatory framework around tourist rentals in Morocco, as well as the documentation, contracts, verification and notarial process involved in buying or selling property. Professional real estate training in the Netherlands further strengthened our understanding of property transactions, valuation, client advisory and the practical side of the market.
Rather than building a company focused on sales alone, the aim was to create the kind of local partner an owner or investor would want on the ground in Tangier: commercially minded, transparent and involved beyond the transaction.
